The TwoKey Promise
Draft, last edited November 1, 2026
Draft, not in effect yet. TwoKey is still invite only. This page shows what will apply once TwoKey opens to the public, and may change before then.
TwoKey holds the details of your money and your home, so you should know what you can count on. These are our commitments. They're part of the terms of service, and where the two differ on something below, this page wins.
Free stays free
One home on Free keeps everything TwoKey runs itself: House, tasks and the garden, projects, money you type in or import, the job and places lists, sharing with your household, and guest links. We won't move those behind a paywall.
Some features rely on an outside company that charges us or sets the rules, like bank sync, travel times, job feeds, map data and Pinterest. On any plan those can get limits, change or be removed if the provider's price or terms change. When that happens we'll say what changed and why. Free can also have fair-use limits, like photo storage, which are shown in the app and which we won't lower without 60 days' notice.
Prices don't jump
- Paid prices change at most once a year, with at least 60 days' notice before the new price applies to you.
- Every paid price shows its receipt on the pricing page: what each outside service costs us and TwoKey's share. Connected is those services plus 10%.
- Prices are checked once a year. A change passes through only what a service changed, names that service, and goes in the public price log. Drops pass through too.
- If a paid feature you've paid for goes away, you get the unused part back, prorated.
Your data is yours
- Export everything, on any plan, at any time: money, House and Jobs as CSV and JSON, plus your photos. No waiting, no fee.
- Delete your account and data from inside the app whenever you want.
- We never sell your data and never show ads.
- We use AI to help you, never to train on you. Your data trains no AI model, not ours and not the AI company we use. See which features use AI.
If TwoKey shuts down, you're not stranded
If we ever decide to stop running the hosted TwoKey service, we will:
- tell every member at least 90 days before it stops;
- keep export working for that whole time, and stop charging for paid plans, refunding any unused part;
- release TwoKey's code under an open-source license, so anyone can run their own copy and import their export. Features that rely on outside companies (like Plaid for bank sync) would need your own account with them.
Shutting down the hosted service is the only thing that triggers opening the code. If someone else takes over running TwoKey, this promise goes with it.
No surprises
Before a change that takes something away from you, we tell you first, by email or in the app, and say why. Changes to this promise follow the same 30-day notice as the terms, and we'll never change it to take away a refund or notice you were already owed.
Only what you choose to publish is ever public
- Nothing about your home goes public unless you publish it yourself, one house at a time, like an open listing. You can take it back whenever you want.
- If TwoKey ever shows market numbers, like prices in a ZIP code, they come only from groups of at least 10 homes, never from one household.
- What owners publish is free for everyone to see. We don't sell it, so no one gets an inside edge.
- TwoKey makes money from plans, never from your data.
